Child sponsorship
When parents end up sending their children to live in an orphanage or with a distant family member, education is one of the biggest reasons they give as to why they made that hard choice. The cost of schooling is a huge expense for a family living in Haiti, a cost that many families simply can't afford. We come alongside of families to cover schooling costs so that children can both receive an education, and continue to live with their families.
Literacy Program
We come alongside of parents to teach them how to read, write, and do simple math. Many parents are often taken advantage of because of their inability to sign their own names and read important paperwork. Many are unable to help their children with their homework, and cannot do essential basic math in order to successfully run a small business. We send tutors directly to their homes during the week for around 8 months. in order for parents not to struggle to find care for young children or worry about transportation. Education is essential for the entire family.

BIBLE STUDIES
Education is vital in order for the lives of children, families, and communities to transform. Ansanm comes alongside of parents to get job training they need, comes alongside of children to learn trades they can use for future income, and offers communities seminars on a variety of subjects. Our future plans are to offer health and sexual education seminars, spiritual development teachings, and training on healthy financial practices.
Sometimes the only thing a family needs is a leg up. Most parents that we work with either have a small business that needs a little help, or have dreams of starting a small business but don't have the means to begin. We come alongside of parents by offering micro loans so that they can start or expand their small business. We are currently looking to send business coaches to get training so that they can assist parents to help them run a successful business.
In vulnerable situations, we assist families that have an urgent need. Many times this can mean helping families to find proper medical care for necessary treatment, or to help families rebuild a house due to natural disasters and storms. After hurricane Matthew, we assisted over 30 families in rebuilding their homes.
Due to a voodoo-influenced culture and high illiteracy rates, truth is often very skewed among families we work with. We feel that a relationship with God is the most vital aspect of life and realize that God is the true support and help to a family's well-being. In January we are excited to be beginning monthly Bible studies with families. We think the ability to read the Bible is extremely important, and are excited about reading and studying God's Word together as friends.
