How Ansanm began.

It all started when...

Our founder, Courtney spent three months living and working in an orphanage, and then spent the next two years trying to advocate for  children in the two orphanages she was working with. Over the course of these two years, Courtney discovered the intense suffering that is the every day reality for children living in the orphanage system. When a dear friend of hers lost her job and could no longer support her daughter, she decided to move permanently to Haiti to begin helping families to stay together.

Courtney now lives in Haiti with her husband, Jimmy, and together they run Ansanm's programs.
