EMPOWERING FAMILIES TO STAY TOGETHER
OUR HOLISTIC APPROACH
THE PROBLEM: FAMILIES RIPPED APART DUE TO POVERTY
THE SOLUTION: STRENGTHEN FAMILIES WITH HOLISTIC SUPPORT
In the core of Haiti, Ansanm's holistic approach weaves a tapestry of hope and resilience. School sponsorships light the path for children, unlocking the doors to education and opportunity. Small business loans empower parents to cultivate dreams, turning aspirations into thriving realities. Through comprehensive educational training, families are nurtured together—parents gain wisdom in parenting, spiritual growth, social behavior, and crucial life skills, while their children grow in knowledge and confidence. This approach transforms not just individuals but entire communities, fostering a future where dreams are not just imagined but lived.

MEET RICHARD
We first met Richard when he was eleven years old and was living in an orphanage with his siblings in really tough circumstances. Richard’s father had passed away, and his mother thought she had no other option but to take her children to the orphanage to live. A couples years later, Richard and his siblings were taken back to live with their mother, and Ansanm has been supporting their family since to ensure they have the resources to stay together. Because of Ansanm’s support, Richard was able to graduate from high school and learned different trade skills like electrical work and plumbing. He has been using these skills to help support his family. Richard’s other siblings continue to attend school, and Richard’s family has attended many different trainings at the Family Center that has allowed for progress in their small business.

MEET MENALD & MICA
Menald and Mica have been married since 2011 and they have two children together. It would be difficult to find a more kind and generous family. Menald and Mica have been through the kinds of hardships that most do not see in a single lifetime. Menald went through intense medical trauma after an electrical accident while helping out a friend, several years later, he was unjustly placed in prison for a time, simply because he unknowingly hopped on the wrong taxi. Menald and Mica have been displaced more than once from gang violence. They have both suffered many losses in their families due to illness and growing gang violence in the capital. Menald and Mica have remained faithful and resilient, and Ansanm has played a significant part in their story. Menald and Mica’s children attend school thanks to the sponsorship program, and both Menald and Mica have been employed by Ansanm for many years in the past until they were able to grow their businesses through our small business program. They since were able to purchase a piece of land, and Ansanm helped them build a home for their family to live more safely in.
